Comprised of nearly 700 firefighters, Pittsburgh Fire Fighters Local No. 1 works to negotiate for safe working conditions, fair salaries, and dignified retirements. We prioritize supporting charities, promoting diversity in recruitment, and advocating for legislation that provides up-to-date training and equipment. Our firefighters are the first to respond to emergencies and risk their lives to save others. Effective coordination is crucial in rescue, ventilation, and other operations. Our ultimate mission is to ensure the safety of all lives involved.
